<p>The Turpan Oasis is located in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, with a geographical location of 42°32 '22 "N-43°12' 50" N, 87°49 '55 "E-90°46' 35" E. The Turpan Oasis consists of a series of distributed oases (106 in total). The total area of the oasis is 2,398.50 km² (Albers projection) and the total circumference is 2,154.14 km (Lambert projection). Among them, the largest oasis has an area of 1,210.16 km² and a circumference of 777.62 km. 99.94% of the total oasis area is located in Turpan City (of which 41.89% is located in Gaochang District, 34.92% is located in Shanshan County, and 23.13% is located in Toksun County), and 0.06% is located in Dabancheng District of Urumqi City. Turpan oasis water system is composed of many rivers which nourish and maintain Turpan oasis. The main rivers are Baiyang River (185.70 km long) and Alagou River (142.33 km long). Their main streams are 185.70 km and 142.33 km long respectively. The geographical position of the mountainous part of Turpan river basins is 42°16′32″N-43°51′10″N, 86°45′22″E-90°48′04″E. It has an area of 15,492.64 km² and a boundary length of 1,636.78 km. 63.07% of this part of the drainage area is in Turpan City, 19.86% is in Urumqi City, 16.98% is in Bayingoleng Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture, and 0.08% is in Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture. The elevations of this part of the basin are divided into 11 types. The dataset was developed based on Google Earth images, ASTER GDEM 30m data, and measured data. The data set includes: (1) Turpan oasis boundary data;(2) Turpan River system data;(3) part of the boundary data of the Turpan River Basin mountainous areas;(4) part of the elevation classification data of the Turpan River Basin mountainous areas. The dataset is stored in.kmz,.shp, and.tif data formats and consists of 59 data files with a data volume of 473 MB (compressed into 5 files, 28 MB). </p>
