<p>This series of publications is a systematic record of avalanche activity in Central Asia and Kazakhstan by the Hydrometeorological Department of the Soviet Union, covering observation data from 1975 to 1980. Volume 13 focuses on central and southern Kazakhstan (such as the Balkash Lake Basin), and volume 14 covers Central Asia (including the Syr Darya and Amu Darya basins). The content includes avalanche formation zoning, historical avalanche event statistics, meteorological condition analysis and disaster prevention recommendations. The data comes from ground observation stations, aerial surveys and local reports. Detailed maps, tables and explanations of terms are included in the book. </p>
