<p>This book is written by the Soviet geographer.А. Fedorovich (BB.А. The classic work of Φ едорович) systematically introduces the natural characteristics and human history of global deserts with vivid language and scientific perspective. The content covers the causes of deserts, climate effects, hydrological changes, sand formation mechanisms, animal and plant adaptability, and human survival and development in deserts. The book particularly focuses on the comparative analysis of the Asian region of the Soviet Union and other desert areas in the world, and looks forward to the future direction of desert management. The second edition of the book won the third prize in the 1952 Stalin Prize. </p>
