<p>This book brings together academic papers on the study of glaciers, snow cover and the Quaternary ice age in the Tianshan Mountains. The content covers the analysis of the motion velocity field of the Karabakak Glacier, the method of determining the glacier area and orientation based on topographic maps, summer glacier surface albedo changes, the snow accumulation characteristics of the internal Tianshan glaciers, the study of the Quaternary glaciation in the Little Nalun River Basin, and the formation and evolution of the microstructure soil of the Djerskai Aratau Mountains and alpine ice in the Central Tianshan Mountains, Siberia and the Far East. The paper reflects the main research directions and achievements on mountain glacier landforms and climate evolution in Central Asia during the Soviet period.
