<p>There are 1,923 lakes in Kyrgyzstan, with a total area of approximately 6,836 km2, of which Isyk Lake accounts for 91% of the total lake area. The national lake rate is 3.4%, and 84% of the lakes are distributed in alpine areas with an altitude of 3,000 to 4,000 meters. In the range of 3,000 - 3,500 m above sea level in the Tianshan Mountains, due to the widespread distribution of alpine erosion land, the existence of large areas of permafrost and the inherent Kastan landform, the "movement" of lake building is strong. There are 1,677 small alpine lakes concentrated in this zone (Table 5), including 204 in the Isyk Lake Basin, 203 in the upper reaches of the Narun River, 137 in the mountainous areas of the Fergana Valley, 95 in the Chu River Basin, 83 in the Talas River Basin, and 73 in the Sary-Zazi River Basin.
