<p>The 1971 soil thematic map of the four Central Asian countries is a Russian version. It was produced by the Ministry of Geodesy and Cartography of the Soviet Union and the Academy of Sciences of the Soviet Union. The map was compiled in 1971 and the scale of the map was 1: 2.5 million. The data spatial range covers four countries: Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan. The soil types are divided into 10 major categories and 98 subcategories, including plain soil and mountain soil. Data is stored in.jpg format with no geographical information. </p>
It was purchased through the international cooperation project of the Ministry of Science and Technology "Joint Survey and Research on Ecological Environment Protection and Resource Management under the Conditions of Climate Change in Central Asia"(project number 2010 DFA92720).
