<p>This dataset contains temperature and precipitation data from 598 meteorological stations in five Central Asian countries (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan) from 1980 to 1986, 1996 to 2005, 2010, and 2014-2015. The data mainly includes monthly and day-to-day precipitation (i.e. rain, melted snow) data (PRCP), maximum temperature data (T2MAX), minimum temperature data (T2MIN), average temperature data (T2MEAN) and meteorological data such as daily precipitation, temperature, snow depth, wind speed, and wind direction at various stations in the global land region (year.xlsx). In addition to observation data, there is also information on stations in the five Central Asian countries and the global land region, mainly including information such as station ID, station name, latitude and longitude, and altitude. </p>
The data comes from GHCN-D, a dataset containing daily observations of global land areas, and GHCN-Daily synthesizes climate records.
Based on the data from the data set of GHCN-D global land region daily observation data, and based on the numbers of meteorological stations in the five Central Asian countries, the temperature and precipitation data forming the five Central Asian countries were classified and extracted, without any deletion or modification.
The data contains long-term daily site records for land areas around the world, but the records contain many inhomogeneities due to changes in observation time, site locations, and types of thermometers used.
