This book systematically summarizes the comprehensive research results of the Ili intermountain artesian basin between 1971 and 1978, and reveals new laws of the formation and distribution of groundwater in this area. The content covers: basin geological structure and Cenozoic structural characteristics, groundwater dynamics and water culture credit characteristics, water resource balance calculation, and groundwater exploitation dynamics under the influence of human activities. For the first time, a mining model prediction model based on actual well observations was established, and plans for the protection and rational utilization of water resources in arid areas were proposed, providing a scientific basis for water supply planning of Almaty urban agglomeration.
