This collection of papers was compiled by the Western Siberian Regional Hydrometeorological Research Institute under the State Hydrometeorological and Natural Environment Commission of the Soviet Union. It focuses on the river bed evolution laws of major rivers in Siberia (the Ob River, the Ertysh River, the Tomu River, etc.). The research content includes: 1. Characteristics of river bed deformation under natural and reservoir regulation conditions (taking the downstream reaches of Novosibirsk Hydropower Station as an example); 2. Formation mechanism of debris flows in the Altai Mountains; 3. Shoreline dynamics of Krasnoyarsk Reservoir; 4. Analysis on the recurrence probability of a major flood event in the upper reaches of the Tuomu River in 1977. In particular, a formula for calculating the Sherley coefficient of the unfinished serpentine river section is proposed to provide a theoretical basis for the design of water conservancy projects.
