AB  - In order to make rational use of natural wealth, we must clearly understand the landscape changes that are taking place before our eyes. These changes are the result of both natural processes and human economic activity. Many natural processes proceed so slowly that in plain areas, what may have been of practical significance in recent centuries is only the century-old fluctuations in climate and their associated phenomena. Human economic activities, on the contrary, will cause rapid and profound changes in the geographical environment. However, many aspects of human influence on nature have not yet been fully clarified, and the practical significance of its activities is often underestimated or even completely ignored.This book attempts to reveal the changes in vegetation cover and fauna in the clayey semi-desert area in the northwest of the Caspian Lowland over the past two centuries under the influence of human economic activities and century-long fluctuations in humidity. Particular attention is paid to by-product processes, which are major aspects of economic activity, because they are most often ignored. The book does not deal with the direct results of various economic activities, nor does it deal with the characteristics of the economic relationships that contribute to the emergence of anthropogenic features in the northwest of the Caspian Lowlands. Although this issue is of great research value, it goes far beyond the scope of biological research.
