AB  - With the publication of this volume, the publication of the "Handbook of Bird Identification of the Soviet Union" included in the 69th issue of the "Microfauna of the Soviet Union" series has now been fully completed. This identification manual includes a total of 708 bird species found in the Soviet Union:The first volume contains 208 species, the second volume contains 193 species, the third volume contains 128 species, and the fourth volume contains 179 species. This volume was compiled based on careful review of the rich collection of specimens of the Institute of Zoology of the Soviet Academy of Sciences, the use of a large number of zoological documents and some of the manuscript data preserved in the Institute of Zoology, and the author's personal observations.All illustrations are original and were written by the painter B.С. Painted by Rozhestevinskaya.All measurement data, especially the wings, were made using vernier calipers.In distribution information, whenever a boundary is stated "to" a place, it should be understood as "including" that place.
