%X This book is a comprehensive monograph on the physical geographical zoning of the Soviet Union. It systematically expounds the theoretical basis, principles and methods of physical geographical zoning, and provides a detailed zoning description of the European part of the Soviet Union (Eastern European Plain). The book first reviews the historical experience in the study of natural geographical zoning in Russia and the Soviet Union, and clarifies the principles, hierarchical units and boundary division basis for zoning. Subsequently, taking "Eastern European countries" as the object, a comprehensive summary was conducted from the aspects of geographical location, geological structure, topographical characteristics, climate, hydrology, soil, vegetation, animal kingdom and nature reserves. On this basis, natural zones such as ice belts and tundra, forest tundra, forest, grassland and grassland are further subdivided into various landscape provinces and subregions, and their natural characteristics and regional differences are described one by one. The book has a clear structure and is a typical book on regional physical geographical zoning.
