%X This book is the second part of a multi-volume monograph on the geological structure and iron ore of the Krivorog Basin. It is a direct continuation of the book "Precambrian Geology of the Krivorog Basin" published by the National Geological and Technical Publishing House in 1957.The mineralogy, structure and shape of the ores in the Krivorog complex folded rock series, the ore-bearing nature of the rocks, and the distribution of mineral layers and deposits have been discussed in detail in the above-mentioned book. In addition, the mineralogy of iron ore has been elaborated in the works of Yu Yurka and Ye F. Shinukov (1955, 1958, 1959). In this book, these issues are mentioned only briefly or discussed to the extent necessary to address various aspects of the origin of iron ore.Considering the crucial importance of the origin of Precambrian iron ore, the scientific researchers at the Institute of Geological Sciences of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukraine Soviet Socialist Republic and geologists in Krivorog have carried out a lot of work in the past five years to study various iron ore deposits in the Krivorog Basin.To this end, more than 40 ore beds from different mineral deposits under different lithologic and structural conditions were comprehensively studied. The material composition, structure, near-ore alteration, the interrelationship of different types of ores, and the changes of ore beds and ore compositions with depth were studied.The large amount of practical data collected, together with other data on the basin's ores, form the basis of this book.
