%X This book is a collective monograph compiled based on materials obtained during the cooperation between the Institute of Agricultural Chemistry and Soil of the Soviet Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. The book is dedicated to one of the most urgent tasks in modern soil science-applying modeling methods to study soil salinization and alkalization. The origin, distribution and status of saline soil were discussed. A comprehensive model of water and salt transfer in saline soil was constructed.
