Studies have pointed out that this type of fungus has both parasitic and saprotic characteristics: parasitic species can cause diseases to crops and wild economic plants, causing significant harm to agricultural and forestry production; saprotic species participate in the material cycle in nature by decomposing organic matter. The book provides an overview of fungi in this order, a key to genera and species, and original taxonomic descriptions of each species (including key data such as characterization of host plant damage symptoms, distribution points and geographical spread of fungi in Kazakhstan).
