本数据来源于1957年由乌兹别克苏维埃社会主义共和国科学院土壤科学研究所编著的《乌兹别克苏维埃社会主义共和国土壤》系列丛书的第2卷书中的数据。第2卷中描述了费尔干纳盆地的费尔干纳州、安集延州和纳曼干州三个州的土壤覆被情况。撰写资料主要依据不同历史时期对费尔干纳盆地进行的大量土壤考察的资料，最早的资料来自1882出版的«费尔干纳盆地概述»，其次是20世纪初期（1917年之前）、20世纪30年代（1941年前）、1949年之后不同时期的土壤野外调查资料。
\n2017年，中科院中亚生态与环境研究中心通过国际合作项目从哈萨克斯坦科学院图书馆获得此书的扫描件，课题组按照国内档案行业标准对PDF扫描文件的分辨率、存储格式、有无压缩等进行扫描质量的审查，然后在扫描文件中挑选出带有“土壤剖面”信息的数据表，对这些数据表所在的页面进行OCR识别，生成xls格式文件，并对识别结果进行质量验收；组织俄语专业人员对书中的前言、章节概要和土壤数据表表头进行翻译和整理，合并中文表头信息和内容数据形成电子表格版的“1983年哈萨克斯坦克孜勒奥尔达州土壤数据”，由土壤专业人员对表头信息进行专业词语的修正，数据包含280个剖面采样点。数值，小数位，度量单位未做修改，并经过多次多人核对。
