"title": "Central Asia Arid Region (35°N--53 ° N, 50°E-85°E) DEM Data Set",
            "ds_abstract": "
Digital Elevation Model (DEM) is a spatial dataset that describes surface elevation information. It is the core basic data for conducting earth science research such as terrain feature extraction, watershed hydrological analysis, geological structure interpretation, and ecological environment assessment. The Central Asian Arid Zone (35°N--53 ° N, 50°E-85°E) is one of the largest arid areas in the world, covering the five Central Asian countries (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan), the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China, western Mongolia and other regions, with a total area of about 6.8 million km2. This dataset integrates the currently disclosed multi-source global elevation products, and generates a digital elevation data covering the entire Central Asian arid region with a spatial resolution of 30 meters through processing processes such as coordinate system 1, spatial splicing, anomaly correction, and projection conversion. The data set adopts the GCS_WGS_1984 geographical coordinate system, the raster data type is INT16, the elevation unit is meters, and the total data volume is about 236GB. It includes mosaic data and original framing data (tif format), original framing data (hgt format), and original framing compressed package (zip format), which can meet most application scenarios. SRTMonly data (hgts format) is also attached as a backup reference data source.\nThis dataset can be obtained and used free of charge. It can provide unified and high-precision basic terrain support for terrain analysis, hydrological simulation, ecological remote sensing, climate change and other research and engineering planning and construction in arid areas of Central Asia. It can also provide benchmark data for accuracy comparison and regional terrain change monitoring.
",
            "ds_source": "
The original data comes from the NASADEM_HGT dataset (released on February 13, 2020). By integrating multiple supplementary data sources and optimizing processing algorithms, it solves the problems of water voids, missing elevations in high-altitude areas, and large terrain errors in the original SRTM data. It is currently one of the widely used public and free DEM products around the world.
",
            "ds_process_way": "
Through processing processes such as format conversion, spatial splicing, and outlier correction, a digital elevation dataset covering the entire Central Asian arid region with a spatial resolution of 30 meters was generated. During the data processing process, an object-oriented outlier detection algorithm was used to correct the problems existing in the original product, such as altitude anomalies in river valley areas, altitude deviations in ice and snow covered areas, and missing voids in desert areas.
",
            "ds_quality": "
The altitude error is less than 5 meters, meeting the accuracy requirements of most earth science research and engineering applications.
",
