Therefore, after examining the customs and traditions associated with medicinal plants among our people, as well as the various methods used by local inhabitants to prepare plant-based remedies in traditional medicine, methods that our ancestors developed into a precious component of the Turkmen nation's heritage, and drawing upon the most advanced international experience, I described Turkmen medicinal plants and their therapeutic properties in the first and second volumes of Medicinal Plants of Turkmenistan on the basis of scientific medical knowledge accumulated from antiquity to the present day. In the third volume, particular emphasis is placed on the heritage of traditional medicine associated with the medicinal plant world of Turkmenistan, including rare endemic species, relict plants, and endangered species possessing therapeutic properties, as well as methods for their cultivation, which is one of today's most urgent tasks. This volume also provides a comprehensive account of the origins of these medicinal plants through legends and folk tales.\r\n\r\nI wholeheartedly dedicate this book to my Turkmen people.
